Redemptive Cycles is More Than Just a Birmingham Bike Shop

As an effort to reduce pollution in the environment, various Birmingham organizations have endorsed the idea of biking instead of driving to everyday activities. Bike shops in the area help to further encourage this by providing riders with a place to receive proper bike maintenance and repair. Redemptive Cycles is one of these local shops. However, this business also does a lot to help the community. Pay a visit to Redemptive, and you will learn how it is more than just a bike shop.

Earn-A-Bike Program

Redemptive offers the opportunity to earn your own bike. The Earn-A-Bike Program was created to help the homeless and people in need. With this program, people who are in need of a bike can come in and work to earn their own. Whether their car broke down, or if they can’t afford a bike of their own – this is a way to have reliable transportation. Over 150 lives have already been impacted by this program. Redemptive Cycles was even awarded the Community Health Innovation Award, which will allow them to do up to 70 Earn-A-Bikes this year.

Weekly Rides with Redemptive Cycles

The people who run the shop also have a weekly ride that is open to everybody. They call it “Trample”, and it includes 8-12 miles of riding through the downtown area at a casual pace. Come out every Thursday to not only learn how to take care of your bike, but also meet other bikers in the city and enjoy getting to know them. Redemptive also lets you know about other opportunities to ride through other programs and shops that offer weekly events.
