Birmingham Roller Derby
If you have never been to see the Roller Derby, then you are missing out! Come see Birmingham’s team, the Tragic City Rollers take on the Chattanooga Roller Girls on July 9th. This exciting sport is fun to watch while you beat the heat at Zamora Shrine Temple to watch the bout.
Sloss Fest in Birmingham
On July 16th and 17th you must go to the second annual Sloss Fest at Sloss Furnaces in downtown Birmingham. This festival features 31 bands on 3 different stages. Some of the featured acts are Ryan Adams, Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Harper, and the Flaming Lips. Craft beer and art from local vendors will also be at the festival.
Birmingham Barons
You can’t live in Birmingham without seeing Regions Field downtown. There is no better time to check the new stadium out than when the Birmingham Barons take on the Montgomery Biscuits from July 20th – 24th.
Secret Stages in Birmingham
August 5th and 6th is when Secret Stages takes place downtown. This festival features around 60 national and regional musical acts. If you love music, you don’t want to miss out!
Sidewalk Film Festival
The 18th Annual Sidewalk Film Festival is taking place in downtown Birmingham on August 26th – 28th. This festival was named Moviemaker magazine’s top 25 coolest film festivals in the world in 2014 and 2015. You have to go and see why for yourself.
