Start planning your October adventures by figuring out which festivals you want to go to. There are opportunities to experience different cultures, eat delicious food, listen to music, and more. You just have to figure out how far from Birmingham you are willing to drive and which festivals you want to attend. Here are some of the best ones to consider.
Bluff Park Art Show
Start off October with the 53rd Annual Bluff Park Art Show in Hoover. You can get to know the artists and browse a range of amazing pieces. It is a juried fine arts show, so expect the best.
Cullman Oktoberfest
Cullman might be far from German, but they know how to celebrate German heritage with a Southern twist. The festival lasts from Oct. 6 to 9 and has a Biergarten, live music, German food, arts and crafts, game-day TV, a car show, historical tours, and more.
Barber Vintage Festival
Between Oct. 7 and 9, you can attend the Barber Vintage Festival right here in Birmingham. This festival has cross country, motocross, and road racing events. You can also attend the swap meet, where there will be more than 250 vendors; watch the air show; or check out the fan zone.
Kentuck Festival of the Arts
The 45th Annual Kentuck Festival of the Arts takes place at Kentuck Park in Northport on Oct. 15 and 16. You will find over 270 artists and expert craftsmen with all types of work, along with hands-on art projects for kids.
Magic City Classic
Enjoy this festival without leaving Birmingham. This is the 75th annual game and takes place on Oct. 29. The game is the most attended HBCU Football Classic and has the longest-standing rivalry in Alabama, Alabama A&M University against Alabama State University.
