This is one of Birmingham’s most highly anticipated events of the year, and you won’t want to miss all the excitement of race weekend.
Race Weekend Details
This year’s Mercedes-Benz Marathon takes place February 8 through February 10 and includes several different events:
- Marathon – A Boston Marathon qualifying race
- Half-Marathon – For those who want to tackle half the challenge
- Marathon Relay – A tag-team marathon effort with your friends, family, or co-workers
- Regions Superhero 5k – 3.1 miles of fun
- Kids Marathon – Area elementary school participants gather to run the last mile of their cumulative marathon challenge

A Fresh Spin on Your Favorite Race
Due to construction on the I-59/20 bridge, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Marathon races will start and finish in Railroad Park (rather than Linn Park as in previous years). Check the official race weekend schedule for all the details about where you need to be, when.

- Friday, February 8, noon to 7 p.m., and Saturday, February 9, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Health and Fitness Expo and Packet Pickup in Boutwell Auditorium
- Saturday, February 9, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.: Regions Superhero 5K at Railroad Park
- Saturday, February 9, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Kids Mercedes-Benz Marathon at Railroad Park
- Sunday, February 10, 7:02 a.m.: Marathon, Half-Marathon, and Marathon Relay at Railroad Park
- Sunday, February 10, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Jim ‘N Nick’s Post-Race Block Party and Awards Ceremony at Good People Brewery and Bakers Row
