2017 Toyota Highlander Makes New York Auto Show Debut

Toyota Highlander 2017 Alabama

Fans of the Toyota Highlander will be excited to know that the midsize SUV will be full of new, updated surprises in 2017. The Highlander is already a crowd favorite due to its style, comfort, and safety, and the 2017 Toyota Highlander models are no different – Toyota has just added some fun, modern updates to the already beloved vehicle.

Toyota Highlander Performance

Performance is the first thing to be enhanced for 2017. The new Highlander will come with three powertrain options including a hybrid, front- or all-wheel drive, and six trim levels. A new eight-speed automatic transmission replaces the previous six-speed – this is probably the most significant update to the 2017 Highlander. The 8-speed transmission is flawlessly paired with a 3.5-liter V6. The base 2.7-liter four-cylinder is a repeat from last year with a six-speed auto and front-wheel drive on LE models only. In 2017 the Highlander Hybrid will carry on with its continuously variable transmission and standard all-wheel drive.

2017 Highlander Design

The 2017 Toyota Highlanders are also getting a facelift for the upcoming year. The front facade has been beautifully redesigned for 2017, and the taillights also have been restyled. Each trim level sports a different variation of the new front grille, with the Limited and top-level Platinum getting the classiest new look. A brand new SE model sports 19-inch wheels, a dark, glossy surface for the grille and headlamps, and also a suspension that’s been restructured for a sportier feel. The new Highlander will also have standard third-row seats, and it will continue to offer a choice between seven- and eight-passenger seating.

2017 Toyota Highlander Safety

What about safety and technology for the 2017 fleet? Automatic braking, lane-departure warnings, auto high-beams, Pedestrian Pre-Collision, and radar-based automatic cruise control all come standard as part of the Toyota Safety Sense suite.

If you are in the market for a midsize SUV, then you better get ready for the 2017 Highlanders – they will be here before you know it! In the meantime, come see us at Limbaugh Toyota for all of your vehicle needs.
