Looking for a cool Birmingham spot to view the much anticipated 2017 Solar Eclipse? Check out these upcoming viewing parties!
Southern Research
As part of Birmingham Innovation Week 2017, Southern Research’s Southside campus is hosting a free public eclipse viewing party at the Quinlan Castle Courtyard. Food trucks Cantina on Wheels, Devil Dawgs Concessions Inc, and Steel City Pops will be stationed in the courtyard, FREE solar viewing glasses will be provided at the entrance, Birmingham Mountain Radio will be broadcasting live music and the NASA live stream will be broadcast inside.
Vulcan Park & Museum
At Vulcan Park & Museum, you can get closer to the sun while sitting under the moon. Birmingham will see a partial solar eclipse – nearly 92% eclipse of the sun – at approximately 1:31 p.m. Your museum ticket ($6 for adults and $4 for children) will get you a free pair of solar viewing glasses, while supplies last. Bring your lunch and join us for this once-in-a-lifetime event!
Ghost Train Brewing Co.
The solar eclipse will be tracking right over the Ghost Train’s parking lot. Bring out your aluminum foil hats and spectacles and come check out the first full solar eclipse in 39 years. The first 50 people will receive certified eclipse glasses with the purchase of a beer.
Grab your friends and head to one of these locations for a viewing party you won’t soon forget! And if you need a new car, stop by Limbaugh Toyota and take a test-drive!
