Pecan Tassies Instructions

  1. To make the crust, beat the cream cheese and butter in a small bowl until smooth.
  2. Add in flour a little at a time and beat until smooth.
  3. Refrigerate the dough for one hour or until it is firm enough to be rolled.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
  5. Shape the dough into small balls about one inch in diameter. Then, press them into the bottom and up the sides of a greased mini muffin pan.
  6. Meanwhile, make your pecan tassies filling. All you need to do is mix egg, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and salt in a small bowl until it is well blended.
  7. Spoon the filling into the pastry cups and sprinkle with the remaining chopped pecans.
  8. Place the tassies in the oven and bake them for 15 to 20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Remove the pecan tassies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for two to three minutes.
  10. Remove the pecan tassies from the muffin pan. If the tassies stick to the pan, run a sharp knife along the edges of each cup. Once the pecan tassies are removed from the pan, place them on a wire rack to finish cooling. They will take about 10 minutes to completely cool.
  11. Enjoy your pecan tassies!
