Safety Tips For The 4th Of July

Happy Fourth of July

Whether you’re celebrating the birth of our nation with barbecues or by camping with friends, follow these simple precautions for a safe holiday. Bring sunscreen, stay hydrated, and be mindful of outdoor creatures. Have a happy and healthy 4th of July!

Leave the fireworks to the professionals

  • Fireworks are the main ingredient to this fun-filled holiday. Everyone wants to wind down after their long day and shoot fireworks at night. Remember you are dealing with fire, be careful lighting them and being cautious how close you are.

Keep your children safe

  • During Holidays it is easy to get wrapped up in doing something and not pay attention. Whether you are celebrating at the beach or at a campground, make sure your child is always supervised by someone.

Protect your skin

  • Skin cancer is easier to get than you think, but it can be avoided.  Wherever you are spending this holiday – apply sunscreen before when participating in outdoor activities. Parents, that goes for you too!

Stay hydrated

  • It is summer and the weather is only getting hotter! You can get dehydrated by playing in the hot sun outside or consuming alcohol at the pool. Make sure you drink plenty of water this holiday.

Check for ticks

  • Lyme disease can happen to anyone, so do your best to avoid it! If you are outdoors this weekend, bathe or shower as soon as you get inside and get your friend to do a tick check.
