Enjoy Local Activities This Spring Break

Spring Break season is here. You may not have been able to take a vacation, but do not let that stop you and your family from having a wonderful week. From fabulous restaurants and Baron games to parks and trails to traverse, there are so many things to locally in Birmingham. Not sure where to begin your adventures, check out this list of attractions to see.

The Birmingham Zoo

If you and your little ones are fans of exotic animals, then head to The Birmingham Zoo. There are plenty of animals to discover at the zoo such as giraffes, elephants, monkeys, and so much more. If you get tired of walking around, the zoo has a train that can give you a ride around the place. Need a little pick-me-up? The Birmingham Zoo has two restaurants that offer patrons items like sandwiches, flatbreads, and salads as well as 100% Angus beef burgers and more to satisfy your cravings.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Literally, next door from The Birmingham Zoo is another wonderful Birmingham attraction. The Botanical Gardens. There is nothing like walking about the gardens on a bright and beautiful day. Stop and smell the roses in the rose garden and feel at peace as you stroll through the Japanese garden. Before you leave the gardens, stop in at the gift shop. There are plenty of pretty and unique items in the store that would make fabulous gifts.

Vulcan Park

Of course, if you live in Birmingham, then you must at one time or another visit the man who looks down on the city – Vulcan. At Vulcan Park, you can climb to the top of the statue to see a view of the city. The Vulcan Park also includes a museum as well as a shop to explore when you visit the cast-iron statue.

McWane Center

If the weather isn’t looking that great, then bring the kids indoors to visit the McWane Center. There are plenty of interactive exhibits where your children can have fun learning about science. The McWane Center also has an IMAX Dome Theater where your entire family can sit down to watch an animal documentary or even Hollywood movies like the new Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania or Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
