You don’t have to spend an arm and a leg to keep your home fresh this spring. Tidy up with these homemade cleaning products! Who knows? You might even like these concoctions better than your favorite store brand cleaner.

Toilet Bowl Cleaner

You’ll need: 1 cup of vinegar and 1/4 cup of baking soda

Step 1: Mix the two ingredients together.

Step 2: Pour it into your toilet bowl and allow it to settle for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Scrub the toilet bowl and flush.

Grout Cleaner

You’ll need: 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of baking soda.

Step 1: Mix the ingredients together to create a paste.

Step 2: Dab it around the grout area. Then, use a cleanser brush to scrub the mixture in circular motions.

Step 3: Rinse off the product and repeat as necessary.

Pot & Pan Cleanser

You’ll need: 1 cup of baking soda and water

Step 1: Add the baking soda and water to the pot or pan that you want to clean. Then, bring the water to a boil for about 15 minutes.

Step 2: Remove the pot or pan from the heat and allow it to cool. Scrub lightly to remove the burns and grime.

Whipped Laundry Detergent

You’ll need: 4 cups of hot water, 1 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax, 1 bar of Fels Naptha, and 1 cup of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda

Step 1: Take a large saucepan and pour in 4 cups of water. Bring the water to a boil.

Step 2: While the water is heating, take a bowl and mix together the washing soda and borax.

Step 3: Grate the Fels Naptha (or cut it up into small chunks and run it through your food processor). Then, add it to the boiling water in the saucepan. Stir almost constantly.

Step 4: Reduce the temperature of the saucepan to medium heat. Continue to stir until the Fels Naptha is completely dissolved. This should take about 15 minutes. (Be sure not to allow the mixture to boil over.)

Step 5: Remove the saucepan from the heat and add in the washing soda and Borax. Stir the mixture constantly until the powders have completely dissolved. This should take about 5 minutes. (You’ll know that the powder is completely dissolved when there is no longer a grainy texture at the bottom of the pan.

Step 6: Pour the detergent into 2 1-quart Mason jars.

**Use one tablespoon of detergent per load. One Mason jar is enough for over 120 loads!

All-Purpose Cleaner (Prepare in Advance)

You’ll need: White vinegar, water, citrus peels

Step 1: Put the citrus peels into a jar and pour in the vinegar.

Step 2: Set aside this mixture and allow it to infuse for about 2 weeks.

Step 3: Strain the infused vinegar into a spray bottle. Then, dilute it 1:1 with water. It’s ready for use!

All-Purpose Cleaner (Ready to Use)

You’ll need: 1 part water, 1 part white vinegar, and desired amount of essential oil

Step 1: Combine all of these ingredients in a spray bottle and shake. Spray away!
