How Do You Use Toyota Qi Wireless Charging?

2016 Toyota Tacoma Qi Wireless Charging Birmingham

There is nothing more frustrating than a dead cell phone just as you are on your way out the door to dinner or an event. You hop in your car and start rustling through the tangled mess of car chargers, but you can never find the one you need; and if you do, it is too sticky or frayed to function properly. Thanks to Toyota, this frustration can become a thing of the past! Some new Toyota models are offering a new wireless charging system called the Qui wireless charging feature. This feature will make those annoying car chargers obsolete!

Qi in Your Toyota

The Qi wireless charger is located in the front center console in front of the gear selector. The charger is a tray that you simply set your phone on. To charge your cellular device, simply place your phone on the tray. Make sure that there is nothing between the backside of your phone and the bottom of the Qui charging tray. Once your phone is in the tray, push the wireless charger button for your phone to begin charging. Voila! It is that easy!

Qi With Your Phone

Once your phone has begun charging, the charge light will turn amber colored. Once your phone has reached maximum charge, the amber light will turn green to indicate that the charge is complete. There are certain phone models and phone covers and protectors that will prevent the light from turning green upon a full charge. This does not mean the phone will not charge to completion, it just means you will have to check the battery life on the phone to see if it has finished.
The Qui wireless charging feature is a much safer way to charge your phone as well. No more annoying wires to untangle and plug in – simply lay your phone on the tray, push a button, and you’re done! Isn’t technology amazing?
