“Take the Reins” is a run that takes place in the city of Birmingham, Alabama on June 10th, 2017. Both 5K and 10K runs are available to participants. The run was established by The Red Barn, a local organization that’s passionate about assisting people and horses and faith in general.
Take the Reins’ Goals
This race has a couple of major goals. The event aims to honor veterans, first and foremost. It also aims to gather money necessary for The Red Barn’s many efforts. The Red Barn is involved with a number of programs that assist veterans. One example of a prominent program is called “Take the Reins.” This program, in short, focuses on therapeutic activities that can aid people who suffer from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Therapeutic activities can often be beneficial for the treatment of this condition. This condition is common in people who are veterans. Take the Reins doesn’t only concentrate on PTSD, either. It also concentrates on disabled veterans overall. The main goal behind Take the Reins is to help people who are currently in the military. It’s to help retired military professionals as well.
